The Asian Journal of Pediatric Nephrology is 1 year old! As the official publication of the Asian Pediatric Nephrology Association, its mandate has been to report scientific work from centers and colleagues, as well as contribute to academic and research activities in the region. We made a beginning with two online issues published last year and hope to increase the publication's frequency over the next years. During the last year, we have published reviews on a broad range of topics, original articles, brief reports, and commentaries on recently published work. The Journal is indeed fortunate to have had the expertise and unstinted support of a strong editorial board and journal committee and committed group of referees who have guided us in the last year.
This issue of the Journal features two scholarly reviews: the first one on the nutritional management of children, a concern that impacts the care of most patients with chronic kidney disease. The other review discusses the challenges and pitfalls of next-generation sequencing for patients with steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome. Original articles on the role of the renal angina index in predicting severe acute kidney injury, experience with renal transplantation and postinfectious glomerulonephritis, and management of hemolytic uremic syndrome highlight the extent and depth of clinical experience on these diseases, across Asia.
We hope you find the articles useful and look forward to your continued support and contributions. We would also like to use this opportunity to solicit articles and communications from colleagues across the world.
